Pass on your love of padel to the next generation. Train to be an Activator.
At Soul Padel we’re proud to run one of the UK’s leading padel programmes for young people, from What’s That Racket? to Junior Play and Holiday Camps. Our experienced coaches bring the knowledge, passion and expertise. But the magic really happens when young players also get the extra encouragement and attention that makes every session fun, welcoming and unforgettable.
That’s the role of an activator.
Activators support junior padel by helping to create the best possible experience for children on court, from welcoming new players to keeping the energy flowing and encouraging confidence in every rally.
Our Activator Programme is a short, practical course that shows you how to do just that. For £75, you’ll learn how to make junior sessions fun, inclusive and full of confidence-building moments.
The programme is led by Sue Morrison, an LTA Accredited and qualified coach with over 40 years’ experience. Sue has spent her career creating opportunities for children and individuals with disabilities to thrive in sport. Training with Sue is a unique opportunity to learn from one of the UK’s leading figures in inclusive sport, and to see first-hand how to create a real sense of belonging on court.
This course is about more than coaching techniques. It’s about sharing your love of padel, sparking a sense of belonging, and giving young people the chance to meet, play and connect on the padel court.
The Activator Programme is a 3-hour training course that comes with valuable benefits:
- Personal development and enhanced leadership skills
- Pathways to future career opportunities in sport
- Can contribute towards your Duke of Edinburgh Award
- Completion certificate
The course runs for three hours, from 3–6pm on Sunday 21 September at Soul Padel Stockport.
Join us then and help open the court to more people than ever.

Activator Programme – FAQs
What is an Activator?
An activator is someone who helps make junior padel sessions the best they can be. They don’t lead the sessions, but they support experienced coaches by welcoming new players, keeping the energy up, and encouraging confidence in every rally.
Who is the Soul Padel Activator Programme for?
The programme is open to anyone aged 16 and over who loves padel or other racket sports and wants to share that passion with young people. You don’t need coaching experience, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.
What will I learn?
You’ll learn how to:
- Create fun, inclusive sessions where everyone feels welcome
- Encourage confidence and teamwork on court
- Support coaches to make sure all players get the attention they need
- Grow your own leadership and communication skills
At the end of the course, you’ll also receive a completion certificate, and the skills gained can contribute towards your Duke of Edinburgh Award, boost your personal development, strengthen your leadership, and help you prepare for future opportunities in sport.
When and where is the course?
The course takes place at Soul Padel Stockport on Sunday 21 September, from 3–6pm. We may also run further dates in the future.
How much does it cost?
The course fee is £75 per person.
Will I get a job as an activator afterwards?
Completing the course does not guarantee work at Soul Padel, nor does it qualify you to work as a coach, but it gives you valuable skills and experience that you can take into volunteering, coaching pathways, or future opportunities in sport.
If I wanted to go on to do paid work as an activator, what’s the next step?
- Talk to us about the opportunities available.
- Undertake some voluntary sessions to build confidence and get a feel for the role.
- Complete a DBS check to demonstrate you’re able to work with children.
I’m a charity or organisation and I’d like to explore running this for a whole group. Can I?
Yes! We can deliver bespoke activator courses for charities, schools, community groups or organisations of any kind. Just drop us an email at info@soulpadel.co.uk to start the conversation.
