UK padel brand Soul Padel has launched its “Soul Sisters” campaign, an ambitious initiative aimed at increasing female participation in one of the country’s fastest-growing sports. By creating tailored opportunities for women to try padel in welcoming, inclusive environments, Soul Padel is taking a proactive step to address gender imbalances within the game and ensure the sport remains accessible to everyone as it continues to grow.
With padel expanding rapidly, the campaign seeks to ensure that inequalities and biases don’t creep into the sport as it evolves, keeping accessibility and inclusivity at the heart of its growth.
Mark Hewlett, Founder of Soul Padel, said: “Padel is such a fun, social, and accessible game—it has the power to bring people together and improve physical and mental health. While we’ve seen incredible growth, with thousands of players joining us since opening our courts, the gender imbalance is noticeable.
“At Soul Padel, we’re committed to making the sport welcoming for everyone. That means designing sessions and events that truly meet the needs of women players, breaking down barriers to entry, and fostering a community where everyone feels encouraged to step onto the court. The Soul Sisters campaign is a reflection of our belief in creating opportunities for all and our ambition to ensure padel remains a sport for everyone as it grows.”
As Soul Padel prepares for a run of new court openings in 2025, including locations in Stockport, Glasgow, and St Helens, the brand is excited to build on the success of the Soul Sisters initiative. These new venues will provide even more opportunities for women across the UK to discover the joys of padel and join a thriving community of players.
Vic Nicholas, one of the UK’s top female padel players and Soul Padel Brand Ambassador, added:
“I’m delighted to see Soul Padel’s commitment to encourage more women to take up padel. Over the past three years that I’ve been playing, I’ve really noticed an imbalance on the courts between the number of male and female players. Raising awareness about padel among women is really important – what I want them to know is that it is an incredibly sociable sport that’s so easy to pick up, even for complete beginners. You don’t need any prior experience to have fun and enjoy the game. I’m proud to support the Soul Sisters initiative and can’t wait to see it drive greater inclusivity in the sport.”
Steve Yeardley, Padel Manager at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), said:
“We are delighted to support this important initiative to encourage more women to experience the fantastic sport of padel. As the sport continues its rapid growth trajectory, it’s crucial that we build an inclusive and welcoming environment from the ground up. This targeted approach – considering everything from club atmosphere to programming and communications – demonstrates exactly the kind of thoughtful development our sport needs. We applaud Soul Padel for taking this proactive step to ensure padel’s future is accessible to all.”
