Merseyside’s first covered padel courts strengthen Soul Padel’s mission to grow accessible, community-focused padel across the UK.
Soul Padel is proud to announce that Soul Padel St Helens is now open, becoming the company’s third UK venue and joining Soul Padel Stockport and Soul Padel Loughborough University, which opened in March 2025 as the first Soul Padel On Campus club. The opening marks another important step in Soul Padel’s ambition to make padel an accessible, inclusive and community-driven sport for everyone.
Located at Queens Park, St Helens is home to Merseyside’s first covered padel courts, featuring four high-quality, weather-resistant courts built to Soul Padel’s exacting standards. The venue also includes a bright, welcoming clubhouse designed as a space for players to meet, play and connect, with convenient on-site parking and immediate access to Queens Park Health and Fitness .
The new club follows the success of Soul Padel’s other venues. In Stockport, more than 10,000 players have taken to the courts since summer 2024, demonstrating the growing appetite for the sport and the strength of community-focused padel experiences. Loughborough University has quickly established itself as a pioneering campus-based padel environment, bringing students and local residents together through inclusive play.
Giuliano Marangon, an experienced Argentinian padel player and a key contributor to the thriving Stockport venue, steps into the role of Club Manager at St Helens. Giuliano brings coaching expertise, community insight and a welcoming approach that reflects Soul Padel’s values.
Soul Padel St Helens offers the organisation’s full suite of established programmes, developed and refined across hundreds of sessions nationally. These include Soul Sisters, supporting women at all levels, Soul Timers for players aged 50-plus, and What’s That Racket?, Soul Padel’s initiative providing school children with free access to padel. Players can also enjoy intro sessions, social mix-ins, Americanos and a year-round programme of competitive and community events ..
“We’re incredibly proud to open our third club, and bringing Soul Padel to St Helens feels like a natural next step,” said Mark Hewlett, CEO and Founder of Soul Padel. “Merseyside has a passionate sporting culture, and we’re excited to introduce a venue that offers quality, inclusivity and year-round play. With strong communities already established at Stockport and Loughborough University, St Helens adds another important chapter to our mission.”
“St Helens has an amazing community spirit, and I’m looking forward to helping build a club where everyone feels welcome from day one,” added Giuliano Marangon. “Padel brings people together in a way that few sports do, and I can’t wait to see players of all ages and abilities enjoying the courts.”
