Soul Padel refreshes its flagship amateur tournament following player feedback, bringing back the popular one day format and creating more opportunities for grassroots players to compete.

Soul Padel has today announced a refreshed format for the 2026 Stockport Open, with new dates, a return to the popular one day format and revised eligibility criteria, all designed to make one of the UK’s biggest amateur padel tournaments more accessible to grassroots players.
Taking place on Saturday 5 September for the Men’s competition and Sunday 6 September for the Women’s competition, the tournament retains its headline £10,000 prize fund while introducing a new Cup and Bowl competition, ensuring more teams remain in meaningful competition throughout the day.
The refreshed format follows feedback from the padel community and reflects Soul Padel’s commitment to creating competitions that are both ambitious and accessible. By returning to a one day event for each category, players can enjoy a high quality tournament experience without committing an entire weekend.
Open to players with a combined Playtomic rating between 3.5 and 7.5, the Stockport Open has been designed for competitive club players looking to test themselves in a professionally organised event, whether entering their first major tournament or taking on a new challenge.
Every player who enters will receive:
- The opportunity to play at least three matches
- An exclusive REFLO player t-shirt
- A partner goody bag featuring products from leading brands
- Pizza during the event
- The chance to compete for a share of the £10,000 prize fund
The event will also feature professional photography, videography and live streamed matches, helping create an exciting atmosphere throughout the weekend for players, friends, family and the wider padel community.
